LEGENDARY comedy double act Cannon and Ball returned to roots on Friday when they performed at Lees and Hey Conservative Club.

The Oldham duo hosted an evening of laughter and music in front of a bumper crowd to dispel rumours of the club’s closure.

Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball — real names Thomas Derbyshire and Robert Harper — first performed at the club in the early Sixties. More events are planned there in the coming months
