Oldham Business Awards
Organisers of the 2022 Oldham Business Awards have received what they described as “an overwhelming number” of applications for this year’s awards.
This year especially, after the turmoil of the last two years has seen an overwhelming number of entries to this years awards. Having had to cancel the 2020 event due to the pandemic, the return for the 2022 event will celebrate the success, hard work and resilience that the Oldham business community thrives on. It also goes some way to demonstrate that during difficult times in all sectors, diversity and innovation are still strong motivations to succeed.
The organisers said they were not only pleased with the number of entries, but also with the quality. The judges now face a difficult task as they begin the process of shortlisting entrants. including amongst others Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Supporting Young People and Community Engagement Award.
Awards committee chairman Steve Kilroy, said: “After a break from the awards due to the pandemic, we are delighted with the response this year. These awards exist to celebrate the success of local businesses, and we are pleased to see the quantity and quality of so many entries demonstrating the vibrancy of the local economy here in Oldham.
“The hard work now begins in earnest to shortlist the finalists.”
The 2022 awards will be presented at a gala dinner at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham on Friday 9th September.
