Oldham Council Business Ambassador and new Oldham Athletic Chairman Frank Rothwell to host Business Breakfast

Date published: 25 August 2022

Oldham Council's Business Ambassador Frank Rothwell is proudly hosting his next Business Breakfast on Thursday 15 September.

Frank, who recently became the new chairman of Oldham Athletic, will be holding the event at Oldham Event Centre, Boundary Park.

It will focus on sustainability - with a jargon free, straight-talking insight on beginning your business' journey to net zero.

Featuring advice from the experts, you'll also get information on what support is available, how to cut costs and hear first-hand experience of those already going green.

Frank, who is also founder of Manchester Cabins, said: "Sustainability is now a necessity for businesses of all sizes - it's no longer a choice.

"Organisations need to prove their suppliers and subcontractors have policies in place. Any businesses that cannot do that will get left behind.

"The event will help you put everything in place so you can satisfy the requirements of your customers and wider supply chain.

"It's completely free and will be a fantastic opportunity to meet other Oldham businesses and grow your networks. A great breakfast is also included! So book your place and have your business represented."

Oldham Council Leader, Amanda Chadderton, said: "Frank is a fantastic ambassador for business in Oldham and we are delighted he has organised this event for Oldham's business community.

"The cost of living crisis is a huge worry for local businesses. Improving your sustainability could really help you get through these tough times, so please take advantage of this free support and expert advice."

Cllr Shoab Akhtar, Cabinet Member for Employment and Enterprise, added: "Protecting the planet, people and profit; it has never been so important to put sustainability at the heart of your business.

"We want Oldham to be the greenest borough in Greater Manchester and the business community can play vital role in making this happen. Come along, find out more, ask questions and get your business one step ahead of the competition.

"This is Frank's second Business Breakfast as Oldham Council Business Ambassador, and we are sure it will once again be a hugely popular event, so book early to avoid disappointment.

"There are 200 tickets available and so that as many businesses as possible get the chance to come along, we politely ask organisations to book no more than two tickets each if possible.

The Business Breakfast runs from 8am-10am at Oldham Event Centre, Boundary Park, off Hilbre Avenue, OL2 5BL. Breakfast is served from 7.30am. Free parking is available on-site.
