A dream trip to Italy saw five boxers from the Isaan Muaythai training centre in Oldham return home from the WTKA Unified World Championships in Carrera with six gold medals in Muaythai and three gold medals in K1.
The Isaan boxers starring in Italy were Luke Mattinson (aged 13), Connor Shaw (14), Ella Haywood (13), Anthony Hamer (13) and Tommy Lowe (13).
All of the Oldham boxers faced quality opponents from France, Italy, Cyprus and the UK.
Delighted Isaan head coach Steve Donnelly said: “The standard of UK Muaythai is superb at present, and is the best outside of Thaiboxing.
“I'm really proud of all my boxers.
“They are great kids and a credit to their families.
“They didn’t have an easy time in Italy - all of the boxers had hard fights.”
