Isaan fighters shine at Barnsley Metrodome showpiece

Date published: 23 July 2025

Four boxers from the Isaan Muay Thai training centre in Oldham competed at the Barnsley Metrodome on the latest Sandee fight series promotion.

Tommy Sheridan, aged 12 from Failsworth, fought for the -51kg European number one spot against Alfie from Unit 1.

It was a really competitive fight going into the mid rounds.

Tommy was blocking and kicking well and being super slippery for Alfie to catch.

However, Alfie's strength started to tell in the rounds 4/5 as he took the win and the SFS European number 1 spot.

It was a brilliant performance from Tommy though.

Jac Yates, aged 14 from Chadderton, put in a super cool performance against the very strong Connor from Coliseum in Scotland to secure his European number 1 slot and become a Golden Belt winner.

Jac also secured the Sandee fight series European number 1 spot.

Danny Ferris, aged 17 from Fitton Hill, went head to head with Jack Turner from Bournes Muay Thai in an Oldham derby.

Danny put on a sensational performance, dropping Jack in round 2 with knees.

However, the teak tough Jack kept coming with some heavy boxing in the later rounds.

But Danny put on a masterclass class to take a well-deserved win, with big respect to Jack who is good fighter and will come again.

Danny secured his SFS European number 1 spot.

Brayden Watson, aged 18 from Derker, had a brilliant fight against the superb Tom Littlewood from MSA in Huddersfield.

This was a back and foward fight with Brayden doing some excellent sweeps and scoring well with body kicks.

Tom come on very strong in rounds 4-5, smothering and scoring well with knees and good pressure.

However, it was not enough with Brayden taking the win and securing his SFS European number 1 slot.

Isaan head coach Ste Donnelly said: "Our production line of fighters is off the scale at the minute and we have a bunch of very hungry fighters in the gym right now.

"We are in a results-based business and we will be judged by our results in years to come.

"We have been consistently turning out quality fighters from scratch since 2016, and I believe we are making history in Oldham and I’m very proud of that."
