Phillippa Fawley
Inspirational Phillippa Fawley is preparing to donate her lovely locks to little princesses before undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
Phillippa, a teaching assistant at SS St Aidan and Oswald’s primary school in Royton and single mother of two young children, was recently diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.
Before she begins chemotherapy treatment, this remarkable woman will be donating her long hair to the Little Princess Trust to benefit children in a similar position to herself.
The charity provides free real hair wigs to children in the UK and Ireland who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other conditions such as alopecia.
It has received the MBE for volunteer groups and recently announced a hair donation from the Duchess of Cambridge.
On her JustGiving page, Phillippa said: “The staff at the Victoria Breast Unit at Oldham Hospital have been amazing so far (especially my surgeon Miss Bramley) and I feel the need to give something in return.
"The emotional support I have received from family and friends has been overwhelming.”
The page has allowed her to raise over £1,000 for the charity in just 24 hours – a figure that is nearly six times her target.
