Spreading happiness with Gifts of Joy

Date published: 12 September 2018

Volunteers from Human Aid UK visited the Royal Oldham Hospital children’s ward with gifts to share the joy of Eid with children who are unwell.

Human Aid UK volunteers arrived with cars loaded with gifts and cakes to distribute to the children.

They were met with delight from the children and appreciation from both parents and staff.

Mohammed Hasan, a volunteer of Human Aid, said: “Eid is a time of festivity and we wanted to share the happiness with children who are not well in hospitals.

"It’s heart-warming to make children who are unwell in hospital smile.

"That’s the aim of our Gifts of Joy project.”

The toys were purchased through contributions by Human Aid donors as well as an amazing £1,000 worth of vouchers provided by Smyth’s Toy Store.

The volunteers, nurses and children all left with a big smile on the faces!
