Talks marking Oldham's role in the WW1 effort as part of remembrance events

Date published: 21 September 2018

A series of talks will be taking place across Oldham to talk about the town during the First World War.

They'll be part of the centenary remembrance events.

Oldham Local Studies has linked up with Oldham Libraries to present a series of talks across the borough.

From Belgian refugees finding shelter in Oldham to Failsworth women and children coming together to enjoy each other’s company while sewing and knitting socks gloves and bandages for soldiers on the frontline, the talks tell Oldham’s First World War story.

Tickets can be booked by calling 0161 770 4654 or emailing archives@oldham.gov.uk
