Deputy Leader of Oldham Council, Councillor Arooj Shah, spoke passionately at the Asian Women in Business event, which formed of the Oldham Histories Festival that is ongoing across the borough.
With more than 40 people in attendance at the Chambers Business Centre in Hollinwood, Councillor Shah spoke at length about the importance women in business and the contribution they make to the town.
The invited audience (below) listened attentively to an inspirational speech all about Asian business women in Oldham.

There was also an opportunity to visit display stands on a book called Cotton, Curry and Commerce, which features many Asian business women from Oldham.
Kashif Ashraf, who helped organised the event, said: "The audience were captivated by Councillor Shah's words.
"It really was a well-received speech and one which will hopefully inspire some younger business women in our town."
