The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Javid Iqbal, visited the Daisy Nook nature reserve park and complimented staff on the refurbishment that has been to made to the café at the park.
Daisy Nook country park is a great habitat for wildlife and bird spotting, with members of the public able to see an abundance of woodpeckers, owls, foxes and squirrels.
The newly refurbished café is now hoping to bring even more people to the park.
As well as overseeing the cafe refurbishment, the park's company director, Amy Meadows, has decided to dedicate time to raising funds for the Children’s Burns Foundation.
The production of a calendar, which is due for sale next week, is hoping to generate lots of money to help the charity.
All the profits from calender sales will go straight to the foundation.
A monthly competition has also been posted on Facebook.
Anyone can enter a nature scene from around Daisy Nook and the entry with the most ‘likes’ at the end of the month becomes the winner.
