Emmerdale star to feature in 'Aladdin' panto in Heywood

This year's Heywood Civic Centre pantomime cast has been confirmed and it looks like we are in for some fabulous festive family fun this December.

Following the huge success of last year's panto ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ Heywood’s Civic Centre has once again teamed up with north west pantomime company Trio Entertainment, to bring the much loved traditional story of ‘Aladdin’ this Christmas.

This year’s show will star Emmerdale’s Peter Amory, who is best known for his role as ‘Chris Tate’ in the hit ITV soap.

Peter said, "I am really looking forward to appearing in Aladdin this Christmas as ‘Abanazar’.

I’ve played panto villain a number of times and love the experience. I can’t wait to get back into the pantomime mood again and have lots of fun."

Peter will be joined on stage by star of Ceebies ‘Rhyme Rocket’ Joe Chambers who will be playing the role of ‘Aladdin’.
Joining them will be Gary Ellis as Widow Twankey, Lucy Rollason as ‘Princess Jasmine’ and Bethany Burrows as ‘The Slave of the Ring’.

Local talent will also be taking part in the show, with local young dancers from Anita Tymcyshyn School of Dance.

Producer Kevin Brown said, "We can't wait to transform Heywood Civic Centre into a magical space filled with lots of panto fun this December".

Head of Events and Programming Jonathan Higgins said, “Tickets are selling faster than ever for our great panto in Heywood.

Peter Amory is such a great actor and so well known for playing a bit of a misery guts in Emmerdale, so I’m sure he will make a tremendously evil Abanaza!”
