Rachel Fish has been painting stones to raise money for the Poppy Appeal
Kind hearted artist Rachel Fish was determined to help beat the coronavirus to ensure a Saddleworth villagers could mark Remembrance Sunday.
Normally, Greenfield Methodist Chapel worshippers journey to the famous Pots and Pans memorial on Remembrance Sunday with St Marys Church to honour the fallen.
Said Rachel: ”The poppy is the enduring symbol of remembrance of the First World War... We always have a lot of poppies on the day from the Churches, but, because of the current situation, we wont be able to do this.
“So I painted some poppies on stones with messages for people to take and keep in Remembrance. I like to paint things for people to keep and give them a smile.”
And her quiet efforts raised more than £40 to the poppy appeal."
