Co-op Funeralcare Oldham appeals for men’s clothing to support local charity
A funeral home in Oldham has set up a donation initiative to collect men’s clothing and accessories in support of a local charity.
Co-op Funeralcare Oldham, on John Street, is inviting residents to donate men’s vintage clothing in aid of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
Donations will be sent to The Vault clothing store, located in The Furniture Hub Store, where items will be sold to raise funds for the Oldham-based charity, which provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care for adults with life-limiting illnesses across the town.
The collection focuses on items such as designer shirts, coats and jeans, as well as accessories including gloves, hats, scarves and bags. Thanks to the generosity of the local community, the team has already received a significant amount of donations, including shirts and shoes.
Bee Kelly, Funeral Arranger at Co-op Funeralcare Oldham, said: “As a local funeral home, it’s incredibly important for us to support local businesses and charities that mean so much to our community.
“Dr Kershaw’s Hospice provides vital care to people across the area, and many families we work with have relied on its services, so we’re proud to be playing a small part in helping the hospice continue its invaluable work. A big thank you to everyone who has donated their clothes so far. Your kindness will make a real difference to people going through incredibly challenging times.
“We also want to remind anyone going through a difficult time that we’re always here to help, whether that’s offering guidance, support, or simply a friendly chat. Our doors are always open.”
The donation point is open year-round at the branch.
