The Feast of Fire event takes place in Parliament Square from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, with free parking available in council town centre car parks from 3.30pm.
Families heading into Oldham tonight can enjoy a programme of live performances and roaming characters as the town celebrates Halloween and Bonfire Night.
The free event is part of Oldham's year as the Greater Manchester Town of Culture 2026.
Entertainment will include performances from Juggling Inferno, Helter Skelter Arts and The Lips Halloween Show.
Helter Skelter Arts will perform a choreographed fire show featuring two performers dancing with flames and using large fire effects.
Juggling Inferno will also present a fire performance, while The Lips Halloween Show will feature giant puppets and a musical singalong.
Visitors will be able to meet Bessemer the fire-breathing dragon and Toni the giant bat as they move around the town centre.
The evening will finish with a fireworks display around Parliament Square.
Oldham Council has confirmed that parking will be free in all council-operated town centre car parks from 3.30pm.
The council's Director of Communities, Neil Consterdine, said: "The Feast of Fire is one of the most exciting events in our calendar during Oldham's year as the Greater Manchester Town of Culture — and it's completely free."
He said the event would also provide an opportunity for visitors to support town centre businesses.
The celebrations begin at 5.30pm tonight and are scheduled to finish at 7.30pm.
Oldham Central tram stop is less than five minutes' walk from Parliament Square. Bus services will be diverted via Queen Street between 4pm and 11pm, although buses will continue to serve Oldham Bus Station.
