Notice of Intention to Enlarge the Church Building and to Move Tombstones, Monuments and Memorials.

 

1. This Notice is given on behalf of Mills Hill Baptist Church (a charitable incorporated organisation, charity number: 1195227) of Mills Hill Baptist Church, Mills Hill Road, Middleton, Manchester, M24 2FB (‘the Church’).

 

2. Notice is hereby given that, not less than 2 months after the date of the first publication of this notice, the Church intends to enlarge the church building.

 

3. The proposed enlargement to the church building will cover several graves and these will be rendered inaccessible. It is proposed to leave all remains undisturbed but any tombstones monuments or other memorials relating to the affected graves will be removed and re-erected within the Church’s burial ground at the above address.

 

4. Particulars of the deceased persons whose graves will be rendered inaccessible and of any tombstones, monuments or other memorials commemorating them may be inspected at Mills Hill Baptist Church at the above address. 5. Any personal representative or relative of any deceased person interred at the burial ground that is affected by the proposed enlargement may give notice in writing to the Church, either by post or email to the above address, by 31st July 2026 of any objection and/or of their intention within two months from the date of this notice to, at their own cost, undertake the removal and reinterment or cremation of the remains of the deceased and the removal and disposal of any tombstone, monument or other memorial commemorating the deceased.
