A CARING team of 20 district nurses has been nominated for a Pride in Oldham award for hard work and professionalism.
The District Nursing Team based at Royton Health Centre treats a whole range of patients during home visits.
Run by Oldham Community Health Services, the District Nursing Service is open 365 days a year and the nurses care for patients in a variety of community settings, helping people to remain in their chosen care environment.
The whole team was nominated by Eileen Tyson who said the team members always had a “cheery smile and a word of greeting”.
She said: “Nothing is too much trouble in their efforts to help patients. They are discreet, observant and concerned. The welfare of the patient is what matters to them.
“Their work is thorough and their attitude exemplary.”
Stephanie Fawkes, team leader, said the team was thrilled to be nominated for a Pride in Oldham award.
She said: “We always endeavour to provide a high-quality service to all our patients, carers and their families.
“Nominations such as this one make us feel proud of our team with nurses here at Royton and Crompton.
“We would like to thank Miss Tyson for her kind nomination.”
