Pride in Oldham 2010
Angela’s delight at twin success
DERKER stalwart Angela Cosgrove made three walks up the red carpet at the Pride in Oldham awards 2010.
First she was with her colleagues at Friends of Stoneleigh Park as finalists in the Groups category.
Then she was back in the spotlight as a finalist in her own right in the Voluntary category — and minutes later she was making the trip for a third time to collect the winner’s trophy.
Quite a day!
Veteran Mel’s double finale
CRICKETER Mel Whittle brought the curtain down on a marvellous career when he claimed two framed front pages.
The 63-year-old, who bowed out the game with a 100-wicket haul in his final season, was a finalist in both the Sporting Achievement and the Readers’ Choice categories.
