JOINING the Pride in Oldham team: Chronicle Editor David Whaley with FCHO chief executive Cath Green
Sponsorship boost for 10th anniversary awards
WITH less than a month to go to the closing date for nominations, the Chronicle’s 10th anniversary Pride in Oldham Awards have received a boost.
Joining the ranks of top businesses and organisations supporting Pride in Oldham is First Choice Homes Oldham, which has signed up as a sponsor for the next two years.
Cath Green, chief executive officer at FCHO, said: “We are delighted to be a part of the Pride in Oldham awards, particularly in its 10th anniversary year.
“This is an opportunity for us to recognise and support some of the good work being carried out across Oldham that often goes unnoticed.
“We as an organisation already invest in and support a number of groups delivering community-based activities that are helping to make Oldham a place where people want to live.
“As well as the significant investment we are carrying out to improve people’s homes in our properties across Oldham, we are also working hard to improve our communities too.”
Chronicle Editor David Whaley said: “FCHO is a welcome addition to our sponsorship team and I am sure they will play a full part in the judging process that will commence next month to come up with the finalists for the 2012 awards. We are pleased to have them on board.”
The awards take place on December 9 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hall — a Friday evening function rather than the traditional Thursday lunch time to add to the anniversary celebrations.
There is still time to nominate someone for an award. See the item at the top of our Pride in Oldham section
