Service with a smile

SERVICE with a smile and a helpful attitude is the reason staff at the Asda supermarket in Shaw have been nominated for a Pride in Oldham Award.
The hard-working team have been praised for their high standards of good, old-fashioned customer service.
Regular customer Maureen Lowe (71), from Shaw, put pen to paper to ensure her favourite shop staff received a well-deserved nomination.
She said the staff were “great” and that nothing was too much trouble during her weekly shopping trips.
She said: “I go into the store every Monday and it doesn’t matter what I’m after, they are always happy to help.
“At the checkout, there is always a smile on their face and you don’t get that in a lot of other stores. It’s nice to be looked after and nice to get their help.”
Store manager Vijay Patel said: “On behalf of myself and our colleagues, we are extremely grateful to our loyal customers for nominating us for this prestigious local award.
“I am delighted that our customers recognise the hard work and dedication of our colleagues, all of whom take a great deal of pride in what they do. We’re keeping our fingers crossed!”
