Friends of Royal Oldham Hospital

The Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends, led by current chairman Anne Morris, has been nominated for a Pride in Oldham award in the group category.
And Anne said: “The nomination is very nice.
“Our main aim is to raise money so that we can provide the things for the patients and visitors that the NHS doesn’t.”
Since 1991, the Friends have provided comfort and entertainment for people who come to the hospital.
Their many contributions include new television sets, a games room and most recently, a new Royal Rover bus after reaching a target of £30,000 earlier this year.
The group received multiple Pride nominations from grateful Oldham residents Connie Hall, and Dennis and Elizabeth Blakemore, and more who put pen to paper because they were moved by the Friends’ dedication and the difference they make.
Dennis Blakemore said: “They’ve worked with a lot of people we know, and they do really good work.
“I’m very supportive of their cause.”
Connie Hall, who attends league’s coffee mornings, said: “They work really hard in the local community, their events are really enjoyable.
“They’re always really nice and they do make people happy.”
