Chadderton Park Cerebral Palsy Team
Hannah Dunks and her parents Ann and Jason Tricket are the inspirational organisers behind Chadderton Park FC’s cerebral palsy football team.
As one of the few cerebral palsy football teams in the country, the club brings enjoyment to 25 youngsters from across the North-West who attend the sessions.
Not only do the trio co-ordinate everything behind the scenes, including players, matches, kit and equipment, but their efforts provide an invaluable support and social network for families and they are proving an inspiration for other cerebral palsy teams being established across the country.
Urban Angels Dance Troupe
Hundreds of young dancers have Urban Angels Dance Troupe to thank for helping them to reach for the stars.
The troupe was established four years ago in Limeside to make a difference in a deprived area and improve the lives of young people there.
Since then, youngsters have enjoyed dance classes, arts and crafts, and social events, and the troupe has helped organise fundraising events for charities including Care of Police Survivors (COPS).
Alt Community Challenge Team
The Alt Community Challenge Team are a dynamic group of five women making real improvements to their community since forming seven years ago.
The women, known as the ‘Jim Jam Girls’ after making preserves from fruit they had grown in their orchard, have established a series of small community projects including a garden and allotment at Alt Academy, a regular homework club, and a breakfast club during school holidays.
