New fans' club at Oldham Rugby

Date published: 04 December 2021

Brothers Jamie and Kristian Hollingworth are behind the formation of a new Oldham RLFC Supporters' organisation.

Jamie, who is 26, and Kristian, 19, are third-generation Roughyeds fans, who go to games with their Dad, Darren, and their younger sister.

"It's a family affair," said Jamie. "We are all Roughyeds daft and the opportunity to launch a new supporters club is a dream come true."

The brothers live and work in Manchester, Jamie in customer relations; Kristian in the accountancy dept of a law firm.

Working alongside them in running YEDS, the new Oldham Rugby League Club supporters association, are fellow fans John Davies and Sam Doyle.

Standard membership costs £4.50 a month and premium membership £6.50 a month, but all members will be included in draws for top prizes, including a 2022 season ticket for premium members, and everyone joining before December 17 will have a chance to win a £50 voucher for the club shop.

Added Jamie: "We are working to get local shops, restaurants, take-aways and other businesses involved so as to make it a truly Oldham experience.

"We'll also be creating events for fans to bring the YEDS together.

"We have plenty of benefits and we hope to create a lot of interest."

Parent club chairman Chris Hamilton said: "We want all supporters to feel part of the club. It goes without saying, we'll support YEDS in whatever way we can."
