Heavy Mob still leads as teams lose weight

Get Moving to heath 09 — week three

DAWN ECKERSLEY — with our volunteers every step of the way — reports on week three of the programme

AFTER three weeks of diet and exercise — or what our recruits prefer to call torture — the race for victory is well and truly on.

The Heavy Mob — led by Maggie Hurley — got off to a flying start and are still in the lead with 175 points.

Wide Load — captained by Nicola Melvin — are trailing slightly on 168.

And while most team members are putting in maximum effort it seems Chaddy the Owl is not taking the competition seriously and is running the risk of letting his team mates down thanks to his dangerous cheeseburger addiction.

High praise must go to recruits Maggie Hurley, Malana Bridge, Nicola Melvin and Big Al for scoring the maximum number of points — with this week’s weigh-in and session checks covering a two-week period after last week’s session was canceled due to blizzard-like conditions in the town..

At the end of the 10-week programme, the winning team will be rewarded with a glamorous make over courtesy of Debenhams while the losers will be left out in the cold.

As the weeks go by and our recruits get smaller and smaller they will have to put in more and more effort to achieve the results they want.

With one nutrition session under their belts the gang are learning how to fill themselves up with healthy grub and minimise the need for chocolate, chips and cheeseburgers.

But will all the hard work pay off? Will The Heavy Mob retain their seven- point lead? Will Chaddy the Owl ever stop eating processed food?

Catch up with the teams next week to find out.
