Introducing Community Reporters
Date published: 09 November 2009
A Community Reporter could be anyone with an interest in where they live and the skills to share their experience with others. Community Reporters will be making the ordinary, extraordinary giving a voice to the average person on the street on anything from parks to policing, from business to beaver scouts.
In this section of Chronicle online you’ll find some articles written by a group of Community Reporters.
The Community Reporters have taken part in a scheme backed by the Oldham Partnership to provide media experience for a group of people affected by the credit crunch. It is a pilot project that is running in October and November.
As well as writing articles for the website, the Community Reporters have also carried out radio training (see the link below) and have produced a complete radio programme on Oldham Community Radio – click on the player on the right to hear it!
They will also be taking part in video-editing and camera skills training provided by University Campus Oldham.
