DO your bit for a worthy cause at a coffee morning at St Chad’s Parish Centre in Uppermill tomorrow. Taking place from 10am-noon, admission is free and money will be raised for the El Tular Water Project in El Salvador, South America.


A NEW to you sale will see Springhead Congregational Church open its doors from 10am-9pm on Thursday, May 12, for the bustling market day. Womenswear, menswear and children’s clothes will be on sale as well as bric-a-brac.


SADDLEWORTH Floral Art Society host a demonstration entitled Welcome to My Garden on Tuesday, May 10. The talk will take place at the Lee Street Centre in Uppermill. Admission is £4 for visitors.


HOMEBAKE, a tombola and cafe will be on offer at Uppermill Civic Hall on Sunday in aid of Dobcross Bowling Club. Starting at 10am, admission is 50p for adults and stalls are available to hire for £12. Call 0161-624-3745.


HELP raise cash for Parkinson’s Disease at the Lees and Hey Conservative Club on Wednesday, May, 15 from 1.30pm. Stand-up bingo, a raffle, auction and live entertainment will make it a fun-filled fundraising day. Donations on the door.


GREEN-FINGERED locals will love a plant evening at St Anne’s Church in Lydgate tonight from 7.30pm.


A coffee morning at Lees Library tomorrow, organised by the Meet Your Muslim Neighbour group, is free and will take place from 10am-12.30pm.


A PLANNING application has been lodged to create a parking area in Uppermill. Permission is being sought to remove the greenhouse opposite 1-7 Mount View, Den Lane, from a car park and improve highway access.
