Royal fete

THE theme is Kings and Queens for the Royal Diggle Fete at the village primary school on Sunday.

A procession from the Hanging Gate pub to the school will start at 1.15pm, with bungee, trampolines, gladiator jousting, a bouncy castle, bar and hog roast on offer from 1.30 to 4.30pm. Admission is £1 adults, 50p for children.

A GREAT Tea Party will see face painting, craft and jewellery stalls at Springhead Amateur Football Club on Sunday, from from 2 to 4pm. Admission is £3, including refreshment and raffle tickets, in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Support Group.


SADDLEWORTH Townswomen’s Guild meet at the Masonic Hall in Uppermill from 7.30pm next Tuesday, July 5, for a summer buffet and national council conference report. New members welcome.


ENJOY an evening of laughter and summer celebration at the Saddleworth Chairman’s Summer Ball at the Civic Hall in Uppermill on Friday, July 8. Starting at 7.30pm, tickets are £15 and include a buffet and entertainment. Tickets can be bought from Uppermill post office or by contacting 0161-626-7625.


GRAB a cuppa at a coffee morning at the Delph Methodists tomorrow, from 10am at the church hall in Gartside Street.


STORYTELLING experts Peter Chand and Patrick Ryan visit Lees Library on Tuesday, July 5, for a story session and performance, from 6 to 7pm.
