FRIEZLAND Primary School hosts a fun-filled summer fair tomorrow, from 11am to 3pm, complete with circus workshops, balloon modelling stilt walkers and a performance by the school choir. Adult entrance is £1 and children are free.

COUNCIL planners will consider an application to build two homes on land at Owens Fold in Lees.

A JOINT charity performance of Faure’s Requiem will see Oldham Choir and the choir of St Chad’s in Uppermill come together on Sunday, from 3pm at the church. Tickets are £5 from the concert, at St Chad’s church in Uppermill from 10am - 3pm. Contact Alison on 01457-876-760 or Liz on 01457-810-666.

MEET the Saddleworth Naturalists for an expedition around Dovestone on Wednesday, from 7pm, meeting at the Binn Green car park off the A635.

ORGANISERS of the Saddleworth Show have thanked everyone that paid to back a duck in the annual duck race. The lucky winners were W Orme, who bagged the £200 prize, closely followed by K Howarth, who scooped £100, and P Cumberbirch, who walked away with £50.

PLANNING permission is being sought to change the use of 45 High Street in Uppermill to a cafe, bar or restaurant, as well as a single-storey extension.

ENERGETIC youngsters can let off steam at Tiny Boppers, a dance and movement session for tots aged 2-5, at Holy Trinity Primary School in Dobcross, from 2 to 3pm on Monday.



THE mobile youth bus will stop in Athens Way. Lees from 7 to 9pm on Wednesday. For teens aged 11-19.
