KICK the habit with a free stop smoking session at Lees library next Tuesday, from 5 to 6.45pm. One-to-one consultations with the stop smoking service will provide guidance and tips.
SCHOOL is out for summer as Saddleworth School in Uppermill closes on Friday, July 22 at 1pm. Pupils will return on Tuesday, September 6.
DELICIOUS homebake cakes and a raffle will be on offer at Boarshurst Band Club tomorrow, from 10am to 2pm. Proceeds raised will go towards the Boarshurst Silver Band’s Cheltenham finals fund.
A SUMMER brunch will bring seasonal spirit to St Thomas Leesfield Church in Lees tomorrow, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. A raffle, tombola, bacon muffins and cakes will be served.
HELP raise cash for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and Oldham MS Society at a charity quiz on Tuesday. General knowledge and stand-up bingo will raise funds from 8.30pm at the Springhead Liberal Club, with entry £3 per person.
POOL tables, games and workshops will transform Delph Methodist Hall into a thriving youth club tomorrow. For children aged 8-12, the session takes place from 1 to 3pm.
FEEL the rhythm at a sequence dance at the Springhead Community Centre in Ashes Lane tomorrow. Admission is £3, from 7.30 to 10.30pm. Tickets can be bought from Barry on 0161-624-0707.
INDULGE in tasty treats at a cake sale at McConnell’s Vetinary Practice in Uppermill on July 24, from noon to 3pm. Proceeds will go to the World Society for the Protection of Animals and the Cinnamon Trust, a charity which fosters and rehomes animals for the elderly.
