VISIT a table top and cake sale at Ian McConnell’s Veterinary Practice in Uppermill to raise money for charity.
It takes place from noon until 3pm on Sunday, with proceeds to the Cinnamon Trust, a charity which fosters animals, and the World Society of Protection for Animals.
DON’T miss your chance to have your say on parking issues in Uppermill at a public meeting next Tuesday, from 7.30pm at the Saddleworth Civic Hall in Uppermill.
FUN and frolics are guaranteed in Lees on Sunday as the annual village fair takes place at Springhead Football Club’s grounds, St John Street, from noon until 5pm. Attractions include Lees brass band, a scarecrow march, cheerleaders, climbing wall, bouncy slide and charity stalls.
THE mobile youth bus will stop at Delph Primary School on Monday, 7-9pm, for youngsters aged 11-19 to enjoy computer consoles, plus arts and crafts and other activities.
SUMMER holiday activities get off to an energetic start next week at Saddleworth School, with sporting events from 10am-3pm, Tuesday to Friday, priced between £4 for children aged eight-16. Sports will include football, cricket, basketball and dodgeball and can be booked in advance on 0161-770-3683.
PAINT a perfect picture of Lydgate at an art event in the village centre on Saturday, July 30. The event is open to all painters, who will be charged £1 to enter their work in a special exhibition at Lydgate Parish Hall the following day, with proceeds being donated to the hall’s restoration fund.
