Guild talk

Saddleworth Townswomen’s Guild meets at the Masonic Hall, Uppermill, next Tuesday at 7.30pm. The talk will be entitled A Mother’s War and new members are welcome.
THE National Childbirth Trust hosts a 21/2-mile buggy-friendly walk around Dovestone Reservoir in Greenfield tomorrow. Join in the fun walk or pay a small charge to ditch the buggy and hire a sling to go hands-free. Meet at 10am in the car park off Bank Lane.
HELP raise money for the Royal Oldham Hospital League of Friends at a bacon butty and coffee morning tomorrow at Springhead Community Association, Ashes Lane, from 10am until noon.
HAVE a natter with locals at the Meet Your Muslim Neighbour event at Lees Library tomorrow, from 10am until 12.30pm.
YOU can paint a picture in Lydgate tomorrow as part of the annual village fair, from 10am to 4pm. Create your own interpretation of a village scene then pay £1 to enter your masterpiece into an exhibition at the Lydgate Parish Hall the following day. Proceeds will go to the hall’s restoration fund.
TEENS can stay active this summer holidays as badminton and basketball sessions kick off in the Saddleworth School sports hall. The £1 sessions run from Monday to Friday, from 3 to 4.15pm for children aged 8 - 16.
