THE Greenfield and Grasscroft Residents’ Association holds its monthly meeting and annual meeting next Tuesday in the upstairs room of the Greenfield Methodist Church, from 7pm.


THE Saddleworth Naturalists meet at the Brownhill Visitor Centre next Wednesday to learn about Greater Manchester’s hidden wildlife. The talk by David Winnard will start at 7.30pm.


PLANNING permission is being sought to build eight more care dwellings at Stoneswood Residential Home in Oldham Road, Delph.


A DAZZLING concert by Norway’s Bergen Brass Band will raise money for the Saddleworth Parish Chairman’s charities in Uppermill next week. The band performs at the civic hall in Uppermill from 7.30pm on Thursday, October 13, with £6 tickets available at the hall or the village’s post office.


SKETCHES, songs and dances by youngsters from the Denshaw Dramatic Society will ensure two fun-filled nights at the Denshaw Village Hall next week. The show, “All Right on the Night”, takes place on October 14-15, from 7.30pm, in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Tickets are £6, with £4 concessions, available on 07801-716-551.


THERE’S no reason for teens to be bored on Friday nights as the Youth Only Zone in Uppermill provides free activities from 12-19-year-olds. The scheme, at the Saddleworth Sports Centre every week from 6.30 to 8.30pm.
