Saddleworth Historical Society meets at Saddleworth Museum in Uppermill on Thursday, November 24, from 7.30pm. Alan Petford will deliver a talk about the making and meaning of the authorised version of the Bible 1611.
A shopaholic evening at Uppermill Sports Club, Leafields, takes place from 7.30 tonight. Stalls are set to include gifts, cards, jewellery, clothes and Body Shop goods in aid of Uppermill Junior Football Club. Admission is £2.50 with a raffle and licensed bar.
A Christmas Fair at St Mary’s School in Greenfield will see various stalls and a cafe on offer tomorrow from 11am to 2pm. Admission is by donation with Father Christmas and a raffle also on the bill.
THE White Hart in Lydgate will be transformed into a winter wonderland for a fundraising ball tomorrow from 7.30pm. A four-course meal will follow a champagne reception, with an auction, raffle and entertainment, all in aid of Myasthenia Gravis Association. Contact Sukhi on 07815-042-797.
DENSHAW Village Hall will stage a bustling festive fair with an appearance from Father Christmas tomorrow from noon to 4pm.
A FLEA market will be staged at the civic hall in Uppermill on Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is just 50p in aid of Christ Church, Friezland.
TOMBOLA, raffle and bric-a-brac will be the attractions of a Christmas fair at Sacred Heart Church, Uppermill, on Sunday from 11am-3pm to aid church funds.
BRUSH up on flower-arranging at Christ Church in Denshaw during a floral demonstration on Thursday from 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £5 in aid of church funds, include a glass of wine and mince pie. Call Ros on 07765-221-339.
