Coffee morning

INDULGE in a morning cuppa at fundraising coffee session at the St Chad Parish Centre in Uppermill tomorrow. Tuck into delicious cakes and thirst-quenching refreshments from 10am to noon with £1 admission in aid of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
OUT of School Club and pre-school Tiny Treasures, at Greenfield Primary School, has been deemed outstanding by education watchdog Ofsted. Inspectors said staff are committed to children, professional and form a close-knit and highly effective team.
GET to grips with local news, views and issues at a meeting of the Greenfield and Grasscroft Residents’ Association on Thursday, January 12. The group meets in the upstairs room at the Methodist Chapel in Chew Valley Road from 7.30pm.
DO your bit for the Help For Heroes charity by attending a fundraising concert at the Uppermill Civic Hall from 8pm tomorrow. The Navigation Inn brass band will perform on the night while Gilbert Symes will compere the evening of entertainment. YOUNGSTERS can get to grips with self discipline and defence with Kyokushinkai Karate lessons in Springhead. Experienced instructors are on hand at Springhead Congregational Church for participants aged six to 20. Take part on Tuesday or Thursday from 7-8pm with sessions costing £2.50.
GET help to stop smoking at Lees Library on Thursday, January 12, from 5 to 6.45pm.
A CHRISTMAS tree recycling drop-off point at Churchill Playing Fields, Greenfield, is available until Friday, January 13.
