VIOLINIST Sophie Rosa, from the Royal Northern College of Music, will join with local concert pianist Duncan Glenday for an Uppermill concert tomorrow.
The pair will play popular works by Schumann and Elgar during the coffee concert at Uppermill Methodist Church from 12.15pm. Money raised by the £5/£3 admission will be donated to the local Rotary charities.
EMBARK on a challenging 13-mile walk across some of Saddleworth’s highest moors on the look for local wildlife on Sunday. Appropriate footwear and clothes are needed for the walk, suitable for over 14s only, that will start from High Hares, Holmfirth Road in Denshaw from 10.30am. Contact 0161-770-4056 for information.
INNOVATIVE storyteller Ursula Holden Gill will stage a session at Lees Library on Tuesday, 6pm-7pm. The performer is known for her sharp characterisation and comic flair. Places can be booked in advance by calling 0161-633-5764.
MEMBERS of the Greenfield and Grasscroft Resident’s Association hold its monthly meeting at the Methodist Chapel in Chew Valley Road on Thursday. All are welcome to the meeting in the upstairs room from 7.30pm.
GIRL power will be on full display at a fun-filled Ladies Night at St Mary’s Primary School in Greenfield next Friday from 7pm. Partygoers can expect to pampered with head massages, reflexology and eyebrow threading, while knitwear and make-up will be on sale. Funds will be donated to the school.
