Last chance to invest in Saddleworth Hydro
Date published: 13 April 2012
THE final countdown is on to raise funds for the Saddleworth Hydro Project at Dovestone reservoir.
A turbine will create ‘green’ electricity: so far £102,500 out of the target £120,000 has been raised by selling shares. The share offer closes on Monday.
Chairman of the parish council Bill Cullen said: “We’re fully behind this scheme — we’ve got plenty of water, so let’s get this scheme up and running, prove it works, then get going on others”.
Profits made by the project - the first of its kind in the country - will go towards supporting community projects. Pledge support at www.h2ope.co.uk
