Guild meeting

MEET with Saddleworth Townswomen’s Guild at Uppermill Methodist Centre in Church Road on Wednesday. New members are welcome to the meeting from 2pm.
JAZZ fans will be in for a treat at Uppermill Civic Hall tomorrow night. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Saddleworth, the evening will see the Savannah Jazz Band and champion whistler David Morris provide entertainment during the fund-raising night to help beat Polio. Tickets include supper and can be reserved from Barry at kband clees@leesnet.net.
THE Lees and Hey Homewatch Association will meet at Lees Library on Wednesday, May 2, from 1.30pm.
A FLEA Market at the civic hall in Uppermill will raise money for charities chosen by the chairman of Saddleworth Parish Council. The event on Sunday will take place from 10am-4pm, with admission 50p.
TEENAGERS in Denshaw have a place to hang out thanks to the Denshaw Open Access Club. The club, especially for those aged 11-19, meets at Denshaw Village Hall every Thursday from 6.45-9.15pm.
A FLORAL art display entitled Out of the Attic by Kate Russell will be on show at the Lee Street Centre in Uppermill from 7.30pm on Tuesday, May 8.
MONEY will be raised for El Tular in El Salvador at a coffee morning at St Chad’s Parish Centre in Uppermill on Saturday, May 5. Admission includes coffee, cake, a raffle and cards on sale from 10-11.30am.
