OLDHAM PLANNING COMMITTEE: A PLAN to build a holiday village of luxury log cabins in Saddleworth have been put on hold by Oldham councillors.
The scheme to bring plush cabins and pitches for caravans and tents into a secluded holiday retreat has been deferred for investigation into better access to the Nut Bottom site, just 400 yards from Dovestone reservoir.
Councillor John Hudson urged the developers to use their own private road for the entrance instead of the proposed busier entrance via Bank Lane.
He said: “It’s a nightmare to go that way.”
Owner Hollow Oak Ltd is now being asked to reconsider the access.
