Church fair

A SUMMER fair at Friezland Church Hall tomorrow will be opened by the Mayor of Oldham. A grand raffle, refreshments, games and stalls will be on offer at the hall, in Oaklands Road, from 1-4pm with admission just 20p.
A COFFEE morning at Springhead Community Centre tomorrow will raise cash for the Chernobyl Children Lifeline. Join in the fun at the Ashes Lane centre from 10am-noon.
MEET for news and views with the Lees and Hey Home Watch Association on Wednesday. The group will meet at Lees Library from 1.30pm.
STALLS, games and fun for all the family will be on offer during a summer fair in Mossley on Saturday, July 7. Staged by Mossley Parish Church, the fun day will take place between 10am and 1pm at the George Lawton Hall.
LOVERS of the written word can join in the Writing Cafe at Lees Library on Saturday, July 7, from 10.30am-12.30pm. The group meets on the first and third Saturday of every month. Contact Amanda on 07522-664 347 or email writingcafe@hotmail.com.
A PACKED lunch and sturdy footwear are a must if you’re embarking on an organised six-mile walk in Saddleworth on Sunday. Meet at the Brownhill Countryside Centre at 10.30am for the walk that will take in Dovestone and it’s surrounding hills before heading back to the centre via the canal.
