School marks centenary

CELEBRATE Greenfield Primary School’s centenary this weekend.
The two-day event will commemorate the life and work of the school since its opening on July 13, 1912, and celebrate its place in the community, with a range of events. There will also be a photography exhibition chronicling the last 100 years. A Community police surgery is being held at Delph Methodist Church next Tuesday, starting at 10.30am, for one hour.
WANT to get your youngster interested in sport? Take them along to the Community Football Sessions with Uppermill Football Club at Saddleworth School next Friday for training with fully qualified FA Coaches. Four to seven year olds are invited to the free sessions between 6-7pm as part of the Uppermill in the Community Project. JOIN together with fellow textile enthusiasts at the Canalside Quilters sessions, at Saddleworth Museum, on Tuesdays, between 10am-12.30pm, and 1-3.30pm. The quilting group formed a few years ago and although quilting space is now fully subscribed, interested parties are still welcome to come along for a chat.
