ENCOURAGE your youngsters to embrace creativity at Arty Farty.

Held at Saddleworth’s Children and Youth Centre on Wellington Road, 11 to 19-year-olds have the opportunity to produce canvases, jewellery, bin-bag fashion and much more.

Sessions cost £2 and are every Tuesday until August 28, between 1 and 4pm.

EXPLORE music at Saddleworth Serenade sessions every Thursday. Youngsters aged 11 to 19 will look at dance, percussion, DJ-ing and stomp and will also have the opportunity to make their own instruments. Held at Saddleworth Children and Youth Centre. Contact jason.bradshaw@oldham.gov.uk  for more information.

TRY out new, high-octane sports like canoeing or rock climbing, with experts from Castleshaw at Brownhill Countryside Centre on Thursday between 9.45am and 3.45pm for 11 to 16-year-olds. Book a place on 0161-770 4056.

COMMEMORATE those lost in the 1945 Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings at a special service. Saddleworth Peace Group will be meeting outside The Swan Pub, Delph, on Sunday at 2pm before walking up to The Heights Church for refreshments, music, readings and speakers. The Rt Reverend Dr Rupert Hoare will address the gathering, as will local MP Debbie Abrahams.

STEP back in time at a Yanks NAAFI cafe which opens next weekend. The event, held at Sacred Heart and St William RC Church, High Street, Uppermill, will see staff dressed in 1940s-style clothing, selling sandwiches, jacket potatoes, cakes, tea and coffee to the sound of some popular Forties music. Open Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

ATTEND a planning meeting on Monday at Saddleworth Civic Hall to hear all the latest applications from 7.30pm.
