School cleared
Date published: 28 November 2012
Saddleworth School was evacuated yesterday after a suspected gas leak.
The alarm was raised at 10am, and gas engineers were soon on the site.
Evacuation procedures were carried out by staff, before pupils were told to keep warm in the sports hall.
Around two hours later, the pupils were allowed to return to school after engineers had isolated the gas supply in the area where the leak was suspected.
