ENJOY a fundraising concert in aid of Help For Heroes at Uppermill Civic Hall tomorrow, from 8pm. Featuring the Navigation Inn band and guest soloists. Gilbert Symes is MC. THE Friends of Castleshaw, formerly Saddleworth Archaeological Trust, is presenting an illustrated lecture on “Early Settlements in the Castleshaw Village” on Wednesday, at Saddleworth Museum, from 7.30pm.



PARISH councillors have recommended refusing a planning application to extend the amount of time caravans and tents are allowed to stay on Well I Hole Farm, Greenfield, and an application to erect a wind turbine at Lower Houses Farm, Austerlands.



DOBCROSS Village’s Community meeting will be held on Monday at The Swan, Dobcross, from 8pm. Everyone is welcome.
