THE new Dobcross Coffee Shop, at Dobcross Band Club, opens its doors on Saturday, February 2. Pop in for a drink and a chat, from 10am to noon.


RAISE money for the Parkinson’s Disease Society by attending a coffee morning at St Chad Parish Centre, Station Road, Uppermill, on Saturday, February 2, from 10 to 11.30am. Entry is £1 and includes coffee and cake, and a raffle will be held.


THE Rock My Prom! Prom Fair takes place at the Talking Point Conference & Exhibition Centre, Huddersfield Road, Scouthead, next Thursday, from 6 to 9pm. JOIN an international day of remembrance for victims of the Holocaust on Sunday, at Uppermill Methodist Church, from noon, organised by Saddleworth Peace Group. Speakers include the Rt Rev Dr Rupert Hoare, former Dean of Liverpool.
