Health centre plans drawn up
Date published: 01 February 2013
PLANS to demolish the current Saddleworth Medical Practice to make way for a new, two-storey health centre will be discussed by parish councillors on Monday. The application promises to provide better GP and health and wellbeing facilities for the area.
The current building in Delph is considered unfit, and too small to provide the required range of services.
Dr Ian Watson, a GP and partner at Saddleworth Medical Practice, said: “This new building will make it easier to avoid patients making unnecessary journeys to hospital. The practice is expanding rapidly; the new facilities will improve patient care, privacy and dignity.”
