DON’T miss out on what promises to be another fantastic night in Saddleworth’s calendar, and grab a ticket to the Giddy Gringos Latin and Salsa evening of music and dance, taking place on Saturday, March 30.

CELEBRATE Uppermill Methodist Church’s joint centenary and bi-centenary with a variety of events. The first is “Songs of Praise”, introduced by former TV presenter Marjorie Lofthouse and taking place at the church on Sunday from 6.30pm. CLEAN up the community in Greenfield with a Litter Pick tomorrow morning from 10am, meeting at Boarshurst Band Club. The two-hour session will be followed by refreshments, and all equipment needed will be provided The Street Scene team. Everyone is welcome, and children will be presented with a certificate.
THE Youth Group of St Chad’s Parish Church welcome villagers to a “Souper Soup Lunch” tomorrow from 12.30pm. The event comes after a string of successful lunches over the last two years. A number of activities will also take place for youngsters to enjoy, and all proceeds from donations will go to Christian Aid.
COMMEMORATE Good Friday with the Procession of Witness and Saddleworth Morris Men doing a tour of the villages next Friday from 9am. Starting in The Square, Uppermill, the cross is taken in a silent procession to the museum car park, where it will stay until Ascension Day, Thursday, May 9.
