A SELECTION of artwork by 16 artists from across the North-West is on show at The Millyard Gallery, The Square, Uppermill, for their spring exhibition until May 19.

RAISE money for Help the Heroes charity at the Colossal Cake Sale tomorrow at Diggle Band Club from noon. They’re in need of sweet and savoury delights, so anyone with a talent for baking should whip up their specialities. For further information contact Alison on 07725-036 172 or 01457-872 856.


DISCUSS important local issues at Diggle Band Club on Thursday from 8pm with the Community Association. Everyone welcome.


EAT cake and dance the night away at two events held at St Chad’s Parish Centre on Saturday, May 4. Raise money for the El Tular in El Salvador with a coffee and cake morning from 10 to 11.30am. Then from 7pm, enjoy a Ceilidh Celebration as those running the project visit the parish to see Canon Brian Cordingley. Potato pie supper included. No ticket required, just a donation on entry.


CHALLENGE yourself to run 10 miles with the Saddleworth Runners on Saturday, May 4, from 11am. Minimum age 18 years. Entry £4, unless you bring along a cake for fellow runners to reward themselves with after the race! Setting off from Kiln Green Church, Diggle.
