SING your hearts out for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice at the Saddleworth Summer Concert at Uppermill Civic Hall on Saturday, June 15.


The Sing for Pleasure Choir will perform, alongside the Oldham Music Centre Brass Band. From 7.30pm, tickets £5 (childrfen free) from Uppermill Post Office.


LEARN about the “Religious Dissent in the Parish of Saddleworth, 1662-1939” with Alan Petford, of Saddleworth Historical Society, next Wednesday, at Saddleworth Museum from 7.30pm.


TAKE in the beautiful sights of Saddleworth on the Half Day Heritage Walk around Boarshurst and Greenfield. Meet outside the Clarence Hotel, in Chew Valley Road, on Saturday, June 15, at 12.45pm to start the walk at 1pm.

THIS year’s Diggle Blues Festival begins next Thursday and runs until Sunday, June 16. Eleven local bands and musicians will take to the stage in pubs around the village to provide free blues entertainment. WHIT Friday Band Contest winners and runners up will be presented with their winnings at a Presentation Night on Sunday at Diggle Band Club, from 7.30pm. Brighouse and Rastrick Band was again crowned overall winners two weeks ago.
