Coffee morning

RAISE money for motor neurone disease research during a coffee morning at St Chad’s Parish Centre on Saturday, July 6, from 10 to 11.30am. Entry is £1, which includes coffee and cake. Stalls will be selling greeting cards and other goods.
THE Saddleworth Singers stage a Red, White and Blue Summer Concert tomorrow at Uppermill Methodist Church, from 7.30pm. Tickets are £6, with free entry for children.
Debbie Oates, a screenwriter for “Coronation Street”, will be guest speaker at Saddleworth WI’s meeting on Wednesday, July 3, at the Saddleworth Hotel, from 7.30pm., The group will celebrate its fifth birthday. New members are always welcome to attend.
REVEL in local arts and crafts at Saddleworth Creative Network Summer Craft Festival this Saturday and Sunday. There will be a host of regular traders plus a selection of new talent, plus pamper rooms and activities for children. Open from 10am to 4pm.
POLICE are appealing for information about a white Ford Transit van, registration WX54 UNG, which has been seen in suspicious circumstances around Saddleworth. Anyone who spots the vehicle should call 101.
THE Ladies Lifeboat Guild is hosting a cream tea event on Tuesday, July 2, from 2pm, at Uppermill Civic Hall, to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. There will be live music, RNLI souvenirs and a home-made items stall. Tickets are £4 on the door.
RELAX with live piano music at the Swan Inn, Dobcross, on Tuesday, July 2, from 7pm, as accomplished pianist Michael Hindson performs. Sing along at the free event, or a book a table in the piano room.
