Folk night

MUSIC lovers can join in an evening of folk at the Cross Keys Inn, Uppermill, tonight. Everyone is welcome to attend and play acoustically from 7pm — no booking necessary — food available.


BUZZ Hawkins and the Hometowners will entertain tomorrow at Uppermill Civic Hall for the Saddleworth Parish Council Chairman’s Charity. For tickets, email ccsaddleworthpc@gmail.com or call Graham or Diane Sheldon on 01457-872 100. Funds raised will go to St Mary’s Hospital’s Placenta Clinic, Dr Kershaw’s and other local charities.


A FUN day of activities will be held at Dovestone Reservoir to celebrate all who have been involved with the RSPB Access to Nature project. Projects including wildflower plug-planting, large-scale land art and watching wildlife away from camera traps will be held tomorrow 11.30am-4pm.


CREATIVE Arts and craft stalls will feature at Uppermill Civic Hall for the autumn craft festival tomorrow and Sunday. It will be open 10am-4pm with free entry. Visitors can browse stalls, try out the wellness room, with sessions including reiki, reflexology, massage, tarot and henna tattoos; and sample beauty treatments.


SADDLEWORTH Ladies Lifeboat Guild is holding a lunch at the White Hart, Lydgate, on Sunday. Tickets for the three-course meal, including a pre-meal drink, cost £30 and are available from Joan on 01457-875 375.


SUNDAY has been dubbed Back to Church Sunday in Saddleworth to give anyone who has been thinking of returning to church that little extra push. A warm welcome is guaranteed to all who take advantage. Holy communion starts at 11am at St Chad’s Church, Church Road, Uppermill. A eucharist service and Sunday school start at 9.30am at St Chad’s Parish Centre, Uppermill, and at Kilngreen Church, Leeside, Diggle.
