THE annual Saddleworth Ladies Lifeboat Guild lunch raised more £3,200 towards a target of £15,000 for 2013 with three events to come.
The guild is staging coffee mornings at Uppermill Methodists on Wednesday, October 30 and at Delph Methodists, on Saturday, November 16. And the guild’s popular annual quiz night in on Friday, November 22, at Greenfield Conservative Club.
A Harvest Hoe Down will be hosted by the Friends of Saddleworth Church to raise funds for all three worship centres in the parish of St Chad. All ages are welcome to join the dancing and fun with supper included, bring your own drinks. It takes place on tomorrow from 7 to 10pm at St Chad’s Parish Centre, on Station Road. The Saddleworth and Lees District Partnership has written to Network Rail asking for bike lockers rather than racks at Greenfield railway station.

AN application has been submitted to Oldham Council to create four stables with storage at Whitegate Cottage, Strinesdale.
